Speaker Carmelo Abela 1st Speaker To Share Social Media Parliament Updates

After having just been appointed Speaker of the House, Carmelo Abela started to update the public on social media with what is happening on social media.
‘I want to update you with what is happening in parliament’, explained Abela.
He said that the newly elected MPs are currently discussing and debating the speech given by President Myriam Spiteri Debono.
He noted how 34 members of parliament spoke during the ongoing discussions, with all abiding to the allocated time frames.
He also preceded over the swearing in of the two MPs who could not be present for the official one this past weekend.
This makes Abela the first speaker to issue such social media updates about the goings-on in parliament.
