Socjetà Mużikali Beland A.D. 1861 Releases Two New Albums

The Socjetà Mużikali Beland A.D. 1861 of Żejtun has launched two new albums, continuing its long-standing tradition of musical excellence. The new releases include “MATER DOLOROSA”, an album of funeral marches, and “RESURREXIT SICUT DIXIT”, an album of waltzes.

Both albums were recorded by the Beland Band under the direction of Musical Director Mro. Gordon Baldacchino and produced by Alan Schembri Recording Studios. These represent the 12th and 13th volumes in a special series that began in 2003. The series features compositions by renowned composers closely associated with the Beland Band, with each volume dedicated to one of the statues from the Good Friday and Risen Christ sets found in the Parish of Żejtun.

The launch of these albums further highlights the band’s dedication to preserving and promoting Malta’s rich musical heritage, particularly its traditional marches and waltzes.

Fans and collectors can purchase the albums locally at the Beland Band Club Bar, Juve Bar, and Sunny Ironmongery in Żejtun, or at Caccu Bar in Ħal Qormi.

These new volumes continue to celebrate the legacy of the Beland Band while offering music lovers a chance to enjoy and preserve Malta’s unique cultural and religious musical traditions.
