Minister for Housing and Lands Owen Bonnici visited ongoing works on another social housing project, this time in Cospicua, which will create 69 new apartments and 97 parking spaces for vulnerable families.

During the visit, Minister Bonnici followed the progress being made on the project, which forms part of ongoing efforts to increase social housing availability and provide more families with access to quality homes offering security and stability.

“When we invest in social housing, we are directly investing in the quality of life of the most vulnerable families. This project in Cospicua will mean 69 new homes, and for every family that benefits from one of them, it represents a new opportunity to look towards the future with greater peace of mind and stability,” Minister Bonnici said.

The project represents an investment of around €21 million and will include one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. The complex will also include around 97 parking spaces.

Present for the visit were Permanent Secretary Ramon Deguara, Malita Chief Executive Marlene Attard, Housing Authority Chairman Robert Ducker, Housing Authority Chief Executive Matthew Zerafa, and Cospicua Mayor Marco Agius, together with members of the Cospicua Local Council.

The Cospicua project forms part of continued investment in the social housing sector, with the aim of creating more quality residential spaces that address the needs of vulnerable families and communities.
