A total of 190 trees have been planted in Wied Incita, Ħ’Attard, through an initiative involving the Sliema Wanderers Youth Academy in collaboration with Ambjent Malta, as part of the second phase of the ongoing development of the area.

The planting forms part of a wider regeneration project that will see the park expand by an additional 7,000 square metres, further increasing green and recreational space for families in the locality.

Children from the Sliema Wanderers Youth Academy, together with their families, took part in the event, engaging in educational and environmental activities aimed at promoting awareness about sustainability and the importance of protecting natural spaces.

The Minister for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness, Miriam Dalli, attended the event alongside representatives from the Ħ’Attard Local Council and officials from Ambjent Malta. She also joined the children during the tree planting activity and visited ongoing works in the area.

Speaking during the visit, she highlighted that the second phase of Wied Incita includes ecological interventions, environmental restoration projects, and the continued expansion of the park. She noted that the first phase had already delivered 20,000 square metres of open green space for families, with the new phase adding further capacity to the site.

Local and indigenous tree species will be planted throughout the park as part of the ongoing works, reinforcing the project’s environmental and sustainability goals.
