Sliema is set to light up the sky this Saturday, 22 August, as the annual celebrations for the Feast of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Stella Maris, continue with a spectacular fireworks display along the seafront, organised by the Għaqda tan-Nar Stella Maris.

Centred around the Stella Maris Parish Church, the feast is one of Sliema’s most anticipated summer celebrations, attracting thousands of locals and visitors for a weekend of decorations, festivities and traditional festa celebrations.

The highlight of Saturday evening will be the much-anticipated Stars of Fire pyromusical show, which combines a spectacular fireworks display with music.

The association’s members first turned their dream of creating a music-synchronised fireworks show into reality around a decade ago. Since then, Stars of Fire has become one of the key highlights of the Stella Maris celebrations.

This year’s display is expected to once again transform the Sliema skyline, with a series of fireworks effects choreographed to music above the seafront.

With thousands expected to gather along the promenade, Saturday’s spectacle promises an evening of colour, music and light, continuing a tradition that has become synonymous with the Stella Maris feast and Sliema’s summer festa celebrations.
