Sliema Arts Festival Underway With 3 Day Celebration of Creativity and Community

The Sliema Arts Festival is currently underway, having opened on Friday and continuing until Sunday, July 19th.
Organised by the Sliema Local Council with the support of the Ministry for Local Government and Public Works, the festival is transforming the town's streets, promenade and seafront into a vibrant cultural hub featuring street art, murals, live music, dance performances, workshops, artisan markets and family-friendly activities.
This year's edition is centred around the theme "BY HUMANS. FOR HUMANS." and the artistic framework "Error 404: Human Not Found," curated by Artistic Director Rachel Formosa.
The programme explores the relationship between humanity and technology through contemporary art, urban culture and electronic music, either more than 20,000 expected visitors across the 3 days.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Alison Zerafa Civelli highlighted the importance of cultural initiatives in strengthening communities, while Sliema Mayor John Pillow described the festival as a key event that brings together residents, artists, businesses and visitors.
