Simon Vella Gregory has been appointed Campaign Manager for the Nationalist Party (PN), tasked with leading preparations for the upcoming general election.

The announcement was made yesterday evening during the PN’s launch of this year’s Independence celebrations at Pjazza Tritoni, an event that drew enthusiastic crowds and strong youth participation.

Addressing attendees, PN leader Alex Borg revealed several key appointments aimed at reinforcing the party and ensuring it becomes “the party of the nation.”

Vella Gregory brings a wealth of experience in journalism, media, and public communication to his new role. He previously served as the PN’s Director of Communications and continues to contribute to media production and cultural initiatives across Malta. In his new position, he will oversee the party’s electoral campaign strategy and coordination, building on work that has already begun ahead of the general election.

Other notable appointments announced at the event include Dr Sabine Agius Cabourdin as Chief Executive of the PN. A lawyer with expertise in commercial and property law, she is also the founder of consultancy firm SA Consult and holds leadership roles in multiple foundations and advocacy organisations, including the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation and the Malta Women’s Lobby.

Damian Spiteri has been named head of the leader’s Secretariat. An accountant by profession, Spiteri has worked for both multinational and local firms and serves as PN mayor in Munxar, Gozo.

Dr Ing. Simon Mizzi was appointed Chairperson of the Leadership Delivery Office. A graduate of the University of Malta with a doctorate from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Dr Mizzi built his career in the UK aviation sector before returning to Malta to establish a consultancy and lecture at the University of Malta.
