Signs You’re Not Mentally Ready To Go Back To School

The new school year is basically here, but mentally, some of us are still somewhere in July.
If you’re already dreading the alarms, homework and early mornings, these signs might feel a little too familiar.
1. Your Sleeping Pattern Is Destroyed
Going to sleep at 2AM and waking up at midday was fun while it lasted.
That 6:30AM alarm is about to hurt.
2. You Still Haven’t Bought Anything
No notebooks. No pens. No new bag.
You keep telling yourself you’ll sort everything “tomorrow”.

3. You Don’t Even Know Your Timetable Yet
Everyone else seems to know where they need to be.
You’re just hoping someone drops it in the group chat.
4. You Keep Saying “There’s Still Time”
There is, in fact, very little time.
5. You’re Already Thinking About The Next Holiday
School hasn’t even started and you’ve somehow already checked when the next public holiday is.

6. Your Bag Is Still Full Of Last Year’s Stuff
Old worksheets, random receipts and at least three pens that no longer work.
Probably time for a reset.
7. You’re Trying To Fix Your Sleep Schedule In One Night
You spent the whole summer staying up late, but somehow expect one early night to solve everything.
Good luck.
8. You’re Still In Summer Mode
Shorts, flip-flops, beach bag.
Emotionally, autumn has not arrived yet.

9. You Avoid The Back-To-School Section
The notebooks are there. The uniforms are there.
You simply choose not to see them.
10. You’ve Already Said “This Year Will Be Different”
You’re going to be organised, study early and definitely not leave assignments until the night before.
We’ve all heard this one before.
Ready or not, the first day is coming.
How mentally prepared are you for going back to school?
