Signed Agreement To Continue Strengthening Support For Vulnerable Mothers In Malta

The Ministry for Social Policy and Children’s Rights has continued to strengthen its support and funding for NGOs that assist vulnerable people in the community. This comes as a social agreement was extended between the Ministry and the Suret il-Bniedem Foundation, which runs the Teresa Spinelli residence.
This specific agreement will provide security and continuity for the next three years, ensuring the residence continues to welcome women, some of whom are mothers with children. The residence not only offers shelter but also provides health services, including psychological support, and social-legal assistance among other services.
A total of €985,500 has been allocated over three years to ensure a strong social service that meets the needs of these individuals.
Minister for Social Policy and Children’s Rights and Member of Parliament, Michael Falzon said, "These agreements are clear evidence of how much this Government believes in everyone’s potential. We do not wait until a vulnerable person’s life is at risk, but intervene to prevent the consequences that could arise."
