Showers Expected in Malta This Weekend
Local

Malta is set for a mixed weekend of sunshine, clouds and isolated showers, with temperatures remaining slightly above the seasonal average.

Friday 11th September is expected to start sunny, with light southwesterly winds and some partly cloudy spells developing throughout the day. Temperatures will reach a high of 32°C, making Friday the best day of the weekend for beach plans and outdoor activities.

Conditions will become cloudier on Saturday, with moderate west-northwesterly winds and a maximum temperature of 30°C. Cloud cover is expected to increase as the day progresses, before isolated showers develop overnight into Sunday.

The showers are expected to continue into the early hours of Sunday morning, accompanied by moderate to rather strong west-northwesterly winds. Beaches exposed to the west and northwest could experience rougher conditions, while sheltered eastern and southeastern bays may offer better options.

By late Sunday morning, conditions should begin improving, becoming partly cloudy as winds gradually ease into the evening.

Temperatures will reach around 30°C on both Saturday and Sunday, with overnight lows ranging between 23°C and 25°C.

Meanwhile, Malta’s sea temperature currently stands at 30°C, around 4°C warmer than expected for this time of year.
