Seven Scholarship Schemes Launched With €8 Million Investment

The Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima, together with the Minister for European Funds and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme, Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi, today launched seven scholarship schemes with a total value of approximately €8 million. These include the Endeavour II Scholarship Scheme, the TESS Scholarship Scheme, the Malta Arts Scholarships Scheme, the Malta Sports Scholarships Scheme, Achieve 360, Reach High II and Live the Language.
Minister Grima emphasised that these scholarships represent a direct investment in students, providing financial support to help them achieve their future aspirations. He noted that over €44 million has been invested in scholarship schemes to date, underlining the Government’s strong commitment to education and student development.
Minister Zrinzo Azzopardi highlighted that schemes such as Endeavour II and Reach High II, which are co financed through European funds, directly support higher level studies, including Master’s degrees and post doctoral research. He explained that these investments continue to strengthen skills, research and national competitiveness.
The scholarship schemes cover courses at recognised institutions, ranging from training programmes to post doctoral studies. Some schemes focus on academic studies, while others target specialised areas such as the arts and sport.
The Malta Arts Scholarships Scheme supports artists wishing to pursue studies in the creative sector, from diploma level to doctoral studies. The Malta Sports Scholarships Scheme is aimed at established athletes and students specialising in sport.
The TESS scheme supports Master’s and PhD studies through national funding, while Endeavour II supports Master’s level studies through a combination of European and national funds. Reach High II promotes post doctoral research.
Achieve 360 is designed for high performing student athletes pursuing further studies, while Live the Language offers young people the opportunity to develop linguistic and cultural skills through language training abroad.
