Serbian Man Arrested In Birkirkara For Drug Trafficking

A 36 year old Serbian man was arrested after surveillance carried out by the Malta Police Force in relation to drug trafficking in Birkirkara.
During the surveillance, which took place yesterday, police noted a person approaching a vehicle in which the arrested man was sitting. After a suspicious contact took place, the man was arrested.
A search on the vehicle yielded various substances suspected to be cocaine, with further residence searches yielding cannabis ready for trafficking.
The street value amounted to around €11,500, with more cash found in the residence.
The man is expected to be arraigned in court today.
