The countdown is on as the second edition of the ŻVOG Short Film Festival returns to Spazzju Kreattiv on the 24th of July 2026, bringing together an exciting showcase of local and international short films in a celebration of emerging cinematic talent.

The competition will be judged by three of the most prominent film practitioners in the country; ‘Luzzu’ and ‘Zejtune’ director Alex Camilleri, theatre practitioner and actress Simone Spiteri, and producer, writer and director Brandon Terribile.

This year's programme features 17 compelling productions for audiences to experience, including a combination of both Maltese and foreign entries, such as films by the Spiteri Brothers (Dominju), Franco Rizzo (Outside), Greta Holland (Don't look), Juwill (The Golden Bee) and the new film by Sera Barbara and her team (Omerta).

With a diverse programme spanning powerful storytelling and bold filmmaking, ŻVOG is set to cement its place as one of Malta's exciting platforms for short-form cinema.
