SDM Launch Candidates For Upcoming KSU Election 2026

Studenti Demokristjani Maltin (SDM) have announced their team of 12 candidates for the upcoming Kunsill Studenti Universitarji (KSU) elections.
With a team led by Michael Spiteri, the team consists of Keith Calleja, Sam Delia, Ella Micallef Darmenia, Maria Attard, Kristy Spiteri, Gaby Diacono, David Grima, Sean Azzopardi, Thomas Barthet, Lisa Fenech Pace and Julie Ann Camilleri.
With the slogan ‘Flimkien, Għalina Kollha’, it reflects ‘the kind of KSU we believe in: one that brings students together, listens to them, and works with purpose to deliver real results.’
In their candidature for the upcoming KSU elections, SDM have unveiled one of their flagship proposals, aimed at elevating student voices beyond the lecture hall.
The proposed “KSU Thesis and Policy Forum” seeks to create a structured platform through which students can present their academic work directly to industry leaders, policymakers, and key stakeholders, to translate research into real-world impact.
‘At the heart of the proposal lies a simple yet widely recognised concern: that a significant amount of high-quality student research produced at the University of Malta remains unseen beyond academic assessment. Each year, students dedicate months to developing theses and dissertations that address pressing issues across healthcare, law, business, technology, and the social sciences. Yet once submitted, much of this work is rarely revisited or utilised beyond grading.’
