Sandra Gacui Represents ADPD At Climate March Against Fossil Fuels In Amsterdam

Sandra Gauci, leader of the ADPD-The Green Party, took part in a climate march in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, over the weekend, joining environmental groups from across Europe in calling for urgent action against climate change.

The ‘Klimaatmars’, organised by the Klimaatcrisis Coalitie, a coalition of more than 200 organisations, was held under the slogan “Choose our future. Get rid of fossil fuels”.

ADPD said it joined the European Greens and other European Green Party member parties for the demonstration, stressing that climate change is a global emergency that requires international cooperation.

The Party warns that rising temperatures, extreme weather, flooding and damage to agriculture are already affecting communities, while record sea temperatures are disrupting marine ecosystems.

ADPD called for stronger measures to eliminate fossil fuel use and achieve carbon neutrality, arguing that Malta must take greater responsibility rather than simply comply with international obligations.

ADPD also urged increased investment in renewable energy, including solar, wind and marine energy, alongside sustainable transport such as Bus Rapid Transit and the modernisation of Malta’s electricity distribution infrastructure.

The party concluded that stronger political leadership and concrete climate action are urgently needed.
