ROBERTA METSOLA VOICES SUPPORT FOR IRANIAN PROTESTERS

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola has shared a video expressing solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of Iranians who have taken to the streets to protest against the country’s theocratic leadership.

Large crowds of demonstrators have been seen marching through Iran’s capital and other major cities, according to circulating videos, in what is being described as the most significant display of opposition to the clerical establishment in years.

Metsola said the voices of the Iranian people, calling for freedom and democracy, have resonated far beyond Iran’s borders. She underlined that Europe and the wider international community are listening, adding that the demands of the Iranian people will continue to grow louder.
