Roberta Metsola has once again travelled to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, amid the ongoing conflict with Russia.

In a recent social media post, Metsola wrote, “Together in Kyiv. Together for peace and liberty.” As she met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss continued support and cooperation.

As President of the European Parliament, Metsola has consistently demonstrated her commitment to Ukraine, making frequent visits and holding discussions with President Zelenskyy. President Metsola emphasised that Europe, like Ukraine, has always sought peace saying, “It is the very reason our Union was founded. But peace must be genuine and enduring a peace that ensures the safety of all. That is why we continue to advocate for robust security guarantees, and why we are working closely with our partners to make them a reality. We are ready, determined, and capable and this is the message we have conveyed to our partners in the United States.”

In recognition of her unwavering support for Ukraine, Metsola was awarded the Ukrainian Order of Merit, First Class, highlighting her dedication to peace, liberty, and European solidarity.
