Robert Abela Visits Adpro-Instruments As Company Marks Continued Malta Investment

During a visit to Adpro-Instruments Ltd., Prime Minister Robert Abela said the Government will continue providing the necessary support to local and international technology companies that require highly skilled employees, helping them invest further in Malta while giving them the tools and space needed to remain competitive.
"This company is a clear example of that. It is a 25-year success story that has continued to grow and invest in Malta, thanks in part to the support and incentives provided by Malta Enterprise," the Prime Minister said.
The visit marked the 25th anniversary of Adpro-Instruments' operations in Malta. The company is a subsidiary of the German-based UWT GmbH Group and specialises in measurement technology, producing systems that monitor material levels in containers holding solid or liquid substances across a range of industries, including food, beverages, fuels and chemicals.
Today, Adpro-Instruments employs 20 people and has increased its revenue fifteenfold since it began operating in Malta.
During the visit, Managing Director Jesmond Desira explained that until 2025, the company's Maltese operation focused solely on manufacturing standard sensor units. Since then, Adpro-Instruments has expanded its manufacturing activities to produce customer-specific sensor units that were previously manufactured exclusively in Germany.
Prime Minister Abela described this development as an important step in strengthening the company's presence in Malta, saying it also reflected confidence in the Maltese economy, with manufacturing previously concentrated in Germany now taking place in Malta as well.
Mr Desira said the company has continued investing in its operations, workforce, technology and manufacturing processes over the years. He also noted that the German parent group established a Development Department in Malta in 2023.
The Prime Minister highlighted that, with the support of Malta Enterprise, the company had benefited from investment assistance and grants for several projects. He said these initiatives had helped strengthen manufacturing, invest in new technology and improve competitiveness. He added that the Government remains committed to creating an attractive environment for specialised manufacturing by investing in the skills, adaptability and dedication of the Maltese workforce.
Prime Minister Abela said this reflects Malta's ability to attract investment and remain competitive internationally, adding that it aligns with the Malta Vision 2050 strategy for greater prosperity, resilience and high-quality employment.
In a recorded message, UWT GmbH Group Managing Director Uwe Niekrawietz expressed satisfaction with Adpro-Instruments' operations in Malta and said he was proud of what the company had achieved in the country. He also thanked the Maltese Government for its support, describing the employees at the Malta operation as the company's "greatest asset".
