Robert Abela Rules Out Election Speculation

Speaking during a rally marking his 6 years in office, Prime Minister Robert Abela ruled out all the election rumours swirling around, saying that a lot more has to be done before calling a general election.
This comes after PN Leader Alex Borg said during a Sunday rally that the Prime Minister might call an election this year.
The speculations continued to mount after the Labour Party recently opened the applications for candidates to begin vetting them for an election.
However, during the speech, Abela said that with Malta in a good financial state, the Labour Party will continue distributing goods to the people and delivering on their promises.
He said that the Nationalist Party is scaremongering by using issues of debt, with Abela highlighting the reduced deficit and targets being reached as counter.
He also announced a number of new projects, mainly the restoration of Fort San Salvatur in Birgu, and work on Envision 2050.
