Prime Minister Robert Abela held a Cabinet meeting on Saturday ahead of the presentation of Malta’s Budget 2027, scheduled for Monday, 26th October.

In a social media post, Abela reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting families and businesses amid ongoing international economic uncertainty.

“Fi żmien ta’ inċertezza, se nagħtu Budget li jkompli jipproteġi lill-familji u lin-negozji,” the Prime Minister wrote.

He emphasised that the upcoming Budget would focus on distributing wealth, providing stability and offering peace of mind to Maltese and Gozitan families.

The Budget, carrying the theme “Malta Miegħek”, will be presented by Finance Minister Clyde Caruana and will mark the first Budget of the new legislature following Labour’s fourth consecutive electoral victory.

The government has indicated that maintaining energy and fuel subsidies will remain a priority, alongside continued support for families, pensioners and businesses.

Attention will also turn to potential measures addressing the cost of living, taxation and household expenses.

With just two days remaining until Budget Day, families and businesses across Malta and Gozo will be looking towards Monday’s announcements to see how the government’s commitments translate into concrete measures.
