Robert Abela Attends EU–Western Balkans Summit In Montenegro

Prime Minister Robert Abela attended the European Union–Western Balkans Summit held in Tivat, Montenegro, where leaders discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the EU and the region amid increasingly complex geopolitical challenges.

During the summit, Abela stressed the importance of continued collaboration between EU Member States and Western Balkan countries to reinforce security, stability and resilience across Europe.

Discussions also focused on the Western Balkans’ EU integration process.

“The way forward is to continue supporting these countries on their journey to remain close to the European Union and, when the time comes, once all necessary reforms are implemented and the established criteria are met, to join our family,” Abela added.

Upon arrival, PM Abela was given a warm welcome by other European leaders after the results of last week’s general election.
