Robert Abela and Labour Party Pay Tribute to Norman Hamilton

Prime Minister Robert Abela and the Labour Party have paid tribute to veteran broadcaster, entrepreneur and diplomat Norman Hamilton, following his death.

The Labour Party described Hamilton as a pioneer of broadcasting, with a career spanning more than 60 years across radio and television. He became a familiar voice on Radju Malta and was widely known for presenting the popular programme Sibtijiet Flimkien alongside his wife, Josette.

Hamilton also had a long association with ONE TV, where he presented Bla Aġenda for around two decades. He was remembered for his distinctive presenting style and approach to interviewing guests.

Beyond broadcasting, Hamilton was active in Malta’s music scene for more than 50 years and was involved in local and international festivals, including the Eurovision Song Contest. He also served as Chairman of Festivals Malta and Vice Chairman of Mużika Mużika.

His career also included business and diplomatic roles, including serving as Malta’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

Prime Minister Robert Abela described Hamilton as someone who made an important contribution to Malta in several fields, particularly broadcasting, tourism and diplomacy.

The Labour Party and the Prime Minister expressed their condolences to Hamilton’s wife Josette, his daughters Davinia and Yasmin, and all those who knew and worked with him.
