The Minister for Gozo and Planning, Clint Camilleri, together with the Prime Minister’s wife, Dr Lydia Abela, attended the “Rigal Bi Mħabba – Melodija ta’ Ġenerożità” event yesterday at the Sir Arturo Mericeca School Hall in Rabat, Gozo. The initiative supports vulnerable children, ensuring they receive gifts born of the love and generosity of the Maltese and Gozitan people during the Christmas period.

The event featured performances by the Gozo College Choir, Elodie Zammit, Angel Voices Choir, Sant’Antnin ta’ Padova Choir, and Ilyas Ige Sultana, who sang Christmas carols.

Minister Clint Camilleri said, “Once again we have presented Rigal Bi Mħabba from the island of Gozo, a wonderful initiative that began thanks to Dr Lydia Abela and Giorgia Mae. This initiative continues to bring joy to both Maltese and Gozitan children. I sincerely thank everyone who contributed to ensure that all children receive a gift this Christmas.”

Dr Lydia Abela added that the Rigal Bi Mħabba initiative continues to grow each year thanks to the generosity and compassion of the Maltese and Gozitan people. She noted that this year the initiative expanded for the first time in Gozo to include Rigal Bi Mħabba b’Differenza in support of animals, highlighting the active participation of students and schools, which was crucial to keeping Jake Vella’s vision alive.

“I thank everyone who took part in this initiative, which continues to bring happiness to vulnerable children at this special time of year,” Dr Lydia Abela concluded.
