Ricky Caruana has claimed that the Nationalist Party is allegedly boycotting his podcast.

Speaking on Gerald Fenech’s podcast, Caruana said he first invited Alex Borg to appear on his show in January, but the invitation was declined.

A week later, he allegedly invited Shadow Minister Toni Bezzina. According to Caruana, that invitation was also declined.

Caruana said he then invited Nationalist MP Janice Chetcuti, who initially accepted.

However, he claimed she had to cancel at the last minute because the party did not approve the appearance.

He went on to allege that PN Communications decided that members of the Nationalist Party cannot appear on his podcast, adding that this was done with Alex Borg’s blessing.

LovinMalta contacted the Nationalist Party for comment and was told that “that appearances by MPs and candidates are decided on a case-by-case basis, and that invitations should be sent through its communications team.”

In a Facebook post, Caruana pushed back against this explanation, writing: “MP of PN have a clear directive that they cannot send members of parliament on Ricky Caruana Podcast.

“Nathaniel Attard you are lying when you say CASE by CASE basis because everyone I’ve invited, you’ve said no to them,” said Ricky.
