Richmond Foundation has announced its annual conference, “Early Changes Everything: Strengthening Youth Mental Health”, which will take place on 27 May 2026 at Villa Arrigo.

Organised in collaboration with Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and Free Hour, the conference aims to address the growing importance of early intervention in youth mental health across Malta.

The event will focus on recognising concerns early, responding safely and ensuring young people are connected to the right support services before difficulties escalate.

According to Richmond Foundation’s Youth Mental Health Barometer 2025, 85.5% of young people aged between 13 and 25 reported experiencing anxiety during the previous three months, while 54.9% said they felt anxious quite or very often.

The programme will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, lived-experience perspectives and practical strategies centred on prevention, support pathways and improving mental wellbeing among young people.

Speakers include Prof. Kjersti Rosvik, Dr Natalie Kenely, Prof. Marie Briguglio, Dr Gianluca Bezzina, Dr Maria Pace, Dr Lorraine Azzopardi, Ms Miriam Teuma and Prof. Marilyn Clark.

Standard tickets cost €95. The conference forms part of the “Youth Mental Health Barometer 2025: Data to Action” project, funded through the Voluntary Organisations Project Scheme.
