Rescued Hedgehog Laura Returned To The Wild

Not so long ago, Nature Trust’s Gozo Section wrote, hedgehog Laura was ‘far too small to survive on her own after being found in Qala, Gozo.

With plenty of patience, good food and lots of dedicated care, she slowly grew ‘to become a strong young adult.’

‘After one final look around, Laura made move… and disappeared beneath the shrubs, exactly where a healthy young hedgehog should be.’

‘All of the animals that we rescue are protected species and it is illegal in Malta to harm them or keep them as pets’, the team emphasised.

‘Our volunteers have wildlife handling permits and training as well as equipment in order to rescue these creatures. If you spot any of the wild animals that we rescue injured or in danger, please call the Wildlife Rescue Team Malta on 99999505.’
