Relics Stolen From Ħal Kirkop Parish Church: Police Investigations Ongoing

The Archdiocese of Malta has confirmed that a police report was filed following the theft of a number of relics from the Parish Church of St Leonard the Abbot in Ħal Kirkop.
The relics were taken from a reliquary located behind the church’s main altar, which showed no signs of forced entry.
After confirming that the items were missing and had not been relocated within the church, the parish priest reported the matter to the Żurrieq Police Station.
The Archdiocese condemned the theft as a sacrilegious and criminal act and joined the parish priest’s appeal for the relics to be returned.
