The Minister for Agriculture, Anton Refalo, together with Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said, announced that registration is now open for exhibitors at Malta AgriFair 2026, the leading national platform for agriculture, fisheries, food systems and related sectors.

Following the success and strong public attendance in previous years, Malta AgriFair 2026 will return for its third edition to highlight the crucial role of these sectors in Malta’s economy and national identity. The fair will be held from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 April 2026, from 10:00 to 22:00, at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali. The event will bring together farmers, fishers, producers, educators, innovators, businesses, families and policymakers, providing a space for dialogue, learning, collaboration and public engagement.

This year’s theme, “Where Tomorrow Takes Root”, represents a vision that combines respect for tradition with the need to invest in sustainability, innovation and future generations. It emphasises collective responsibility to strengthen today what will support tomorrow. Key priorities include sustainable and resource-efficient agriculture, circular and zero-waste farming, innovative technologies, smart agriculture, and organic or transitioning farming. At the same time, the fair remains committed to protecting and strengthening indigenous crops, traditional practices and Malta’s food heritage.

Minister Anton Refalo stated that Malta AgriFair represents a strategic platform connecting the present and future of Malta’s primary sectors. He explained that the fair is not only an exhibition of products or activities but also a space to recognise the daily work of farmers, herders, fishers and producers, while investing in sustainable and innovative solutions that ensure a strong future for these sectors.

Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said highlighted that the fair has become a key event in Malta’s agricultural calendar. She encouraged all interested exhibitors to register and present their products, thanking Ministry staff for their efforts in making the event a success.

Director of Support Services Estelle Sant explained that Malta AgriFair provides a space to meet as a sector, as a community and as a nation. The theme reflects the need to act today with a view to a more sustainable, innovative and resilient sector.
