Red Plate Car Owners Get Extra Day Of Driving Starting Today

Transport Minister Chris Bonett has confirmed that, as from today, vehicles with red weekend number plates can be driven from Friday morning, instead of waiting until 6pm.
The change means that owners of red plate cars may now use their vehicles for a full day on Fridays, in addition to Saturdays and Sundays.
Minister Bonett said the measure delivers on a previously announced commitment and gives owners greater flexibility. He explained that since many mechanics are closed on Saturdays, the extra day will allow drivers more time to carry out necessary repairs and maintenance.
The update effectively extends the weekend usage window, granting red plate vehicle owners an additional full day on the road.
