Record Breaking 3,031 Glass Bottles Cleared in Żibel’s Isla Clean-Up
Local
Żibel volunteers have beaten their record after collecting an incredible 3,031 glass bottles in just one day, weighing a staggering 1,766 kilograms.
At the latest Isla Clean-Up on Saturday, organisers and volunteers removed and emptied each bottle by hand. And on social media, the NGO thanked everyone who dedicated time and got their hands dirty helping them tackle the waste problem in Malta's sea.
The large haul marks a new record for the volunteers and serves as an impressive reminder of the impact that community action can have on keeping Malta clean.
Thank you for protecting our waters!
