Record Attendance At The Valletta Baroque Festival 2026

The Valletta Baroque Festival produced by Festivals Malta is well underway, having opened on January 8, and has been packed with audiences from all over the world and locally across all of its performances.
Now in its last week, the festival continues to position itself as a highlight of Europe’s cultural calendar, celebrating Baroque and early music in some of the island’s most opulent historic venues.
Under the artistic direction of Kenneth Zammit Tabona, this 14th edition has welcomed several international and local artists and ensembles, with concerts at iconic locations such as St John’s Co-Cathedral and Teatru Manoel drawing full audiences night after night.

With an exciting programme still to come, including large-scale vocal and instrumental works and a fully staged Baroque opera, Pelopida: A recently rediscovered opera by Girolamo Abos, the Valletta Baroque Festival continues until January 25, 2026.
The festival is organised by Festivals Malta in collaboration with Teatru Manoel, supported by Visit Malta and the Ministry for Culture, Lands and Local Government, and sponsored by Schweppes.
