Rare $1.5M McLaren Senna Spotted Braving Flooded Streets in Msida

A video filmed in Msida and shared on TikTok by user @suryaaaaaa70 has captured the attention of car enthusiasts and locals alike, showing a rare McLaren Senna, valued at around $1.5 million, carefully navigating rain-flooded streets.

The McLaren Senna is one of the most extreme road-legal hypercars ever built, designed with a singular purpose: delivering the closest possible experience to a track car while still being able to drive on public roads.

Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 800 PS, the Senna boasts breathtaking performance, active aerodynamics, and an ultra-light carbon-fibre structure. Only 500 units were produced globally, making sightings anywhere, let alone on a rainy day in Malta, exceptionally rare.

The hypercar’s appearance comes as chilly, wet conditions mark the beginning of meteorological winter. The Meteorological Office is forecasting isolated showers today, possibly thundery and even accompanied by hail.

The unsettled weather is being caused by a low-pressure system positioned over the central Mediterranean, expected to shift eastwards from tomorrow. A weather warning is currently active, highlighting the risk of hail, thunder, and strong gusts of wind, with the warning likely to remain in force through Friday.

Despite several recent downpours, November remains slightly behind its monthly rainfall quota of 89.0 mm. The coming weekend will stay damp, with isolated showers and rather strong northwesterly winds reaching Force 4 to 5 until Sunday morning.

Temperatures are set to continue dropping, with daytime highs between 16°C and 18°C and overnight lows of 12°C to 13°C, feeling cooler due to the northwesterly breeze.

Early December may briefly bring partly cloudy skies on Monday 1st, before another spell of unstable weather is expected later in the week.
