Qormi Has A New Lidl Store

Lidl Malta has officially opened the doors to its 12th store, with the new Qormi outlet welcoming shoppers for the first time on Thursday.

Located on Triq l-Imdina, the new store marks another major milestone for the retailer, which has steadily expanded across the Maltese islands over the past 18 years. The opening further strengthens Lidl Malta’s presence as one of the country’s largest private employers, with more than 550 employees and over 30 new jobs created through the Qormi investment alone.

The modern outlet spans nearly 1,500 square metres and introduces a revamped store layout designed to make shopping faster and more intuitive. Customers can expect themed shopping areas, digital screens, self-checkout stations and integration with the Lidl Plus app, alongside more than 120 parking spaces.

Beyond retail, Lidl says the expansion will continue supporting Malta’s economy through partnerships with over 30 local suppliers and producers.

The company also confirmed that its food waste reduction initiatives, including the ‘Feed it Back’ programme and Food Saving Bags, will be rolled out at the new store, reinforcing its commitment to community support and sustainability.
