Qolla L-Bajda Battery To Be Restored By Din L-Art Ħelwa Foundation

Taking to social media, Minister for Culture Owen Bonnici and Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri announced that the cabinet has approved that the battery known as Qolla l-Bajda, also known as Qbajjar or Xwejni Battery, in Gozo, will be granted to the NGO Din l-Art Ħelwa Foundation.

The NGO will assume the title of guardianship so that its Gozitan branch can restore it, maintain it and make it accessible to the public once again.

Minister Bonnici said that this means our cultural heritage can continue to advance and be enjoyed by the general public whilst strengthening the link with the work of NGOs.

On his part, Minister Camilleri thanked Bonnici for his work, and hailed this advancement as one more step in the work with NGOs like Din l-Art Ħelwa.

He said that this continues to build the good relationship with the NGO as he worked with their Gozo chapter on the Marsalforn Road and is thus hopeful about the work they will be doing on Qbajjar.
