PUTTINU TRANSFORMING CENTRAL LONDON BUILDING INTO APARTMENTS FOR MALTESE PATIENTS

Puttinu Cares is currently transforming a building in London into 29 new apartments that will host Maltese and Gozitan patients travelling to the UK for medical treatment.
The property, located in central London, was purchased in 2021 for £8.9 million. A recent valuation has already placed the building’s value at around £18 million, reflecting the scale of the investment made through the generosity of donors. Works on the project began in January 2026.
Once completed, Puttinu will have a total of 49 apartments in London dedicated to patients and their families who must travel abroad for specialised treatment. All apartments will be offered free of charge, helping ease the financial burden faced by families during what is often a very difficult time.
The organisation described the apartments as more than just accommodation, explaining that they represent the love, sacrifice, and generosity of the Maltese and Gozitan people. Many elements of the buildings have been made possible through public donations, turning them into powerful symbols of national solidarity.
For families undergoing treatment abroad, these apartments often become a true home away from home, providing comfort and stability during challenging moments.
Puttinu also encouraged supporters to continue contributing, highlighting that donations help provide peace of mind, dignity, and hope to patients and their loved ones.
