Puttinu Cares Returns For Another Fundraising Marathon This Friday

Across Malta and beyond, Puttinu Cares has become a vital support system for families facing the daunting challenge of cancer treatment for their children.
Relying on donations, the organisation provides free lodging to Maltese families who must travel to the UK for specialised cancer treatments unavailable locally. Over a 15-year period, Puttinu Cares has secured 20 apartments near the Royal Marsden Hospital and rents six additional spaces, helping 60 to 90 families monthly. This assistance is crucial given Malta’s geographical and medical limitations.
Recognising the need to support an even greater number of families, Puttinu Cares has taken on an ambitious project to expand its accommodation facilities. The charity aims to refurbish a building into 27 studio apartments near the centre of London. This £25 million endeavour will create a comforting space for families during treatment, ensuring they have a home away from home without the burden of accommodation costs.
To fund this significant expansion, Puttinu Cares is organising a fundraising marathon, broadcast live across all TV stations on Good Friday. This event aims to rally public support and generosity, underlining the community’s collective effort to alleviate the hardships faced by families during cancer treatment. Through such initiatives, Puttinu Cares is dedicated to offering not just financial but emotional support, emphasising the importance of solidarity in overcoming the challenges of cancer.
This Good Friday, tune in to Puttinu Cares’ marathon and contribute to the organisation’s great cause.
