Protest In Solidarity With Global Sumud Flotilla In Valletta

A protest is taking place today in Valletta outside Parliament Square at 18:00 in solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla.
Moviment Graffitti is ‘endorsing the call for urgent public solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla which was intercepted last night on its way to Gaza by Israeli Occupation Forces.’
‘We meet today, Thursday 2nd October, at 6pm in front of Parliament. We invite you to join this civil society call, to bring your Palestine flags, placards and loud voices.’
The Freedom Sumud Flotilla is an international people-led solidarity mission with the aim of bringing humanitarian aids to the starving people of Gaza and to symbolically break the Israeli illegal siege, the activist group explained.
‘The Global Sumud Flotilla is made up of more than 50 boats and nearly a thousand volunteers. Among the participants there are Swedish activist Greta Thumberg, Mandla Mandela (grandson of Nelson Mandela), Italian Parliamentarians, Officials from the European Parliament of different nationalities, several journalists, doctors, activists and artists.’
‘ Boats left from Tunisia, Spain and Italy at the beginning of September. Yesterday they were less than 100 miles from the coast of Gaza while they were intercepted by Israeli Occupation Forces. Boat by boat, around 200 volunteers have been arrested last night while around 13 boats were confiscated. Around 30 vessels are still proceeding towards Gaza this morning.’
‘We demand Maltese and other EU politicians to end relations with the terrorist state of Israel. We demand safety for the activists of the Global Sumud Flotilla who have been kidnapped last night and for all the other hundreds still at sea.’
‘The humanitarian aid should reach the people of Gaza. Stop the genocide in Gaza. Free Palestine.’
