Protest In Solidarity With Daphne Caruana Galizia Tonight In Valletta

A protest is set to be held today in Valletta in solidarity with the late Daphne Caruana Galizia and her family, on the back of the recent Yorgen Fenech trial that found him not guilty of links with the assassination in 2017.
Held by Repubblika and Occupy Justice, alongside a number of organisations and entities, the protest will converge in front of Parliament at 7pm tonight.
‘Silence is not an option. Be there’, the protest artwork reads. The Institute for Maltese Journalists (IĠM) backed the protest as well, saying that despite journalist bodies not typically supporting demonstrations, it could not back out of this particular one.
‘When one of your own is denied justice, silence isn’t an option. It has been nine years since Daphne Caruana Galizia was murdered outside her home, and so far, no one has been brought to justice for ordering the crime.’
Various other entities and groups will be in attendance, including Moviment Graffitti, aditus, the Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation, MGRM, MEIA and others.
