Project Green Employees To Benefit From Collective Agreement

Project Green workers will benefit from improved pay and conditions following the signing of a new collective agreement covering 2025 to 2029. The deal was announced at Milbrae Grove and described as a result of constructive discussions between the General Workers’ Union, the Industrial Relations Unit within the Office of the Prime Minister, and Project Green management.
The agreement provides for a significant increase in basic pay, together with higher shift, trade and skill allowances. Annual allowances have also been improved. Beyond wages, the deal introduces greater transparency in agency structures and is intended to enhance the quality of life for employees and their families.

Environment Minister Miriam Dalli said the agreement delivered not only on green spaces but also on recognition and fairness for the workers who maintain them. She added that the workforce was central to government’s goal of ensuring that every family lives within walking distance of an open and green area.
Project Green CEO Joseph Cuschieri called the workers the heartbeat of the agency and thanked them for their commitment. The General Workers’ Union welcomed the agreement as a first for Project Green staff and a model of effective negotiation.
