Prime Minister Robert Abela said that progress in the property sector must go beyond investment and translate into better maintained buildings, improved services and a higher quality of life for residents.

He was speaking during an event marking the 60th anniversary since the establishment of Victor Estate, a Maltese family business specialising in property management and administration. The company provides maintenance, security and response services aimed at ensuring buildings are better managed and residents receive more efficient support.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Bajada family, the company’s management and employees for six decades of work, during which the business evolved across generations while adapting to changes within the property sector.

Dr Abela said property is not only a financial investment, but often the largest investment made by Maltese and Gozitan families. He stressed the importance of protecting this investment through professional management, quality administration and safe living environments.

He highlighted Government measures aimed at strengthening standards in the property and construction sectors, including the establishment of the Building and Construction Authority and reforms to improve occupational health and safety.

The Prime Minister also welcomed Victor Estate’s investment in technology, training and security services, saying these can improve communication with residents, increase transparency and allow issues to be addressed more quickly.

Speaking about short lets, Dr Abela said Malta must maintain a balance between tourism opportunities and residents’ quality of life. He said tourism activity cannot come at the expense of neighbours who expect responsible property management.

He encouraged Victor Estate to continue investing in professionalism and services that keep residents at the centre of its work.
