Prison Inmates & Staff Working On UK Puttinu Cares Apartment Furniture

The Malta Correctional Facility is currently undertaking a project with staff and persons in prison working together to produce furniture for the new Puttinu Cares apartments in the United Kingdom.

‘These apartments will provide a safe and welcoming place for Maltese and Gozitan patients and their families while receiving medical treatment abroad, offering comfort, stability and dignity during some of the most difficult moments of their lives’, the Malta Correctional Services Agency explained.

This is an opportunity given to persons in prison to contribute positively to society through meaningful work and to develop practical skills.

CEO Mr Christopher Siegersma thanked everyone involved for their dedication and commitment, especially the staff who support this work and the persons in prison who are showing discipline, effort and pride in every piece being produced.
