Prime Minister Robert Abela visited Gozo alongside the Minister for Gozo and Planning, Clint Camilleri, to observe preparations for this year’s Carnival celebrations.

The visit commenced in Nadur, where the Prime Minister met organisers behind the well known Spontaneous Carnival. The event attracts many young revellers from both Gozo and mainland Malta.

He followed the progress of the preparations and spoke with representatives from Malta Daily, the Mayor of Nadur, Edward Said, and residents who work tirelessly to keep the tradition alive.

Throughout the day, Abela toured several venues and entertainment companies planning activities across the island for Carnival weekend.

Many of these initiatives are youth led and aim to create an atmosphere that resonates with a younger generation.

He also visited five float building companies to see the detailed craftsmanship behind this year’s creations.

The tour concluded in Victoria, where he attended the traditional parade and met families, volunteers and participants celebrating together.
