Prime Minister Robert Abela Visits SiGMA-EuroMed Expo

Prime Minister Robert Abela has visited the SiGMA-EuroMed Expo, hosted this year at the Malta Maritime Hub, where he toured the exhibition halls, met participants, and viewed the latest innovations in the gaming and technology sectors.
Welcomed by SiGMA founder Eman Pulis, the Prime Minister highlighted Malta’s continued role as host of one of SiGMA’s flagship events. This year’s edition has drawn over 400 sponsors and exhibitors, around 12,000 delegates, and more than 400 international speakers.

SiGMA, which started as a small Maltese start-up, has now grown into a global enterprise and a leading name in gaming and technology, employing over one hundred professionals locally.

During his visit, the Prime Minister stressed the Government’s commitment to ensuring Malta remains the home of major international events such as SiGMA. He also announced plans for a new state-of-the-art National Expo Centre, designed to attract further quality events and position Malta as a hub for global summits.
“This national investment will strengthen Malta’s future economy and showcase our country as a centre of excellence,” Dr Abela said. The initiative forms part of Malta Vision 2050.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister for the Economy and Strategic Projects, Silvio Schembri.
