Prime Minister Robert Abela Visits Paceville Police Unit

Prime Minister Robert Abela visited the Malta Police Force unit dedicated to Paceville, where he met with officers working to strengthen public order, safety, and police presence in one of Malta’s busiest areas, especially during the summer months.
Accompanied by Minister for Home Affairs and Security Glenn Bedingfield and Police Commissioner Angelo Gafà, the Prime Minister took the opportunity to check in with the officers, hear about their daily work, and thank them for their commitment to keeping communities safe.
Dr Abela said the Government will continue investing in stronger police presence and the necessary resources to ensure Malta remains a safe country. He stressed the importance of maintaining respect and good order, while ensuring that visitors enjoy Malta while respecting local communities.
The Paceville unit officially began operating in May and consists of 31 officers, including 23 constables and eight sergeants. Its main objective is to ensure safety in the area through modern policing methods tailored to local needs.
The unit works closely with entities including the Malta Tourism Authority, Town Centre Management, and other police departments such as Immigration and the Anti-Drug Squad.
Its work includes patrols, preventing anti-social behaviour, enforcement, business inspections, and direct engagement with residents and establishments.
