Prime Minister Robert Abela Speaks Out On Parents Traffic Accident

Prime Minister Robert Abela has spoken about the recent traffic accident in Fgura involving his parents, former President George Abela and his wife Margaret Abela.

In an interview with @championsconnect_, Dr Abela confirmed that his parents are “better” as they continue their recovery.

He also shared his personal reaction to the incident, saying, “When your parents are in that state you get a real shock.”

The traffic accident occurred on Sunday, 27 July 2025, and sadly claimed the life of a 71-year-old woman from Żabbar.

She was a passenger in a Toyota Corolla driven by a 23-year-old woman.

The collision took place with an Audi Q3 driven by George Abela. His wife Margaret was also in the vehicle, along with a 42-year-old woman and two boys aged 14 and 11. Both George and Margaret Abela are stable, while the conditions of the other passengers are still being monitored.
