Prime Minister Robert Abela Invites PN Leader Alex Borg For a Meeting

Prime Minister Robert Abela has invited newly elected Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg for a one-on-one meeting to discuss key issues facing Malta and explore how both sides of Parliament can work together to address them.

Taking to Facebook, Abela wrote:

“This morning I invited Alex Borg, who will be assuming the role of Opposition Leader, to a meeting. It is in the interest of the country that both sides in the highest institution of the nation, the Parliament, discuss issues for the benefit of our people.”

Alex Borg narrowly defeated former PN leader Adrian Delia over the weekend to become the party’s new leader.

Commenting on the leadership contest, Prime Minister Abela noted that Borg’s slim margin of victory, along with the fact that around 3,000 party members did not vote, meant that “60% of tesserati didn’t vote for Alex Borg.”
