Prime Minister Robert Abela Attends French National Day Celebrations in Paris

Prime Minister Robert Abela and his wife, Dr Lydia Abela, have concluded an official visit to Paris, where they attended France's National Day celebrations at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
During the visit, the Prime Minister and Dr Abela attended the traditional Bastille Day military parade held at Place de la Concorde, joining members of the French Government and other international leaders invited to the celebrations.
A contingent from the Armed Forces of Malta also took part in the parade alongside military contingents from other European Union member states, representing the European Union during the event.
The invitation extended by President Macron, during the final year of his second presidential term, has been described as a significant diplomatic and political gesture that reflects the strong relationship and longstanding friendship between Malta and France.
The official visit further highlighted the close ties between the two countries, with Malta taking part in one of France's most important national celebrations alongside European and international partners.
