Prime Minister Meets & Thanks CPD Firefighters Deployed To Portugal

Prime Minister Robert Abela and Minister for Home Affairs & Security Glenn Bedingfield visited the newly refurbished Civil Protection Department Fire Station 3 in Xemxija.
There they met and thanked the CPD firefighters deployed to Portugal. Those who had already returned to Malta were present at Station 3, while members of the contingent still deployed joined the visit virtually.
‘The visit recognised the commitment and professionalism shown by our firefighters while supporting their Portuguese counterparts during the ongoing wildfire season.’
The deployment forms part of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism’s pre-positioning programme, which is coordinated through the DG ECHO.
