Prime Minister Robert Abela has officially inaugurated the Hyatt Centric Malta in St Julian’s, marking the opening of the new 170-room hotel operated by Maltese company JUEL Group.

Accompanied by Tourism Minister Jo Etienne Abela and Lydia Abela, the Prime Minister described the project as a testament to Malta’s strong entrepreneurial spirit and continued confidence in the country’s future.

He said the investment reflects the ongoing evolution of Malta’s tourism industry towards more personalised and authentic visitor experiences.

The hotel, which forms part of the internationally recognised Hyatt brand, aims to offer world-class hospitality while encouraging guests to explore Malta’s cultural heritage and unique attractions.

During the inauguration, Dr Abela reiterated the Government’s commitment to supporting investments that create quality jobs and strengthen Malta’s tourism offering.

He also highlighted the importance of maintaining stability in the energy and aviation sectors to ensure uninterrupted growth in tourism.

Tourism Minister Jo Etienne Abela described the project as a vote of confidence in Malta, its tourism sector and its workforce.

Meanwhile, JUEL Group Director Adrian Muscat thanked Hyatt for its trust in the local market and expressed pride in bringing the renowned international brand to Malta.
