Prime Minister Calls For Meeting With PN Leader For Chief Justice Talks

Prime Minister Robert Abela said that he has invited Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg for a meeting to continue talks about the appointment of a Chief Justice after both leaders were called for a meeting by President Myriam Spiteri Debono.

‘After speaking with the Prime Minister as well as the Leader of the Opposition, the President expresses her conviction that the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition have the necessary wisdom to reach an agreement in the interest of the Courts and the Administration of Justice, the State, and above all our people.’
In comments to journalists, the Prime Minister said that he has invited Borg for a meeting today (Friday 6th February) to continue these discussions and that he hopes that an agreement can be reached.
